3) Start packing department wise in the house i.e. kitchen all together, dinning together, sanitary together, etc. if you are packing something heavy like a sofa set then make sure you dismantle all the possible parts and pack them separately to avoid breakage, damage and so forth. Keep all the similar articles in one box i.e. if you are packing utensils in one carton and crockery in another, then try to put all t he small boxes in one big box but make sure you do not make it too heavy to be carried.

4) Pack all the cartons with carton tapes from all the sides and middle to avoid leakage at any point during the move. Once the packing is done, label all the boxes with a number and name of the room stuff that it contains to ensure easy retrieval during unpacking. Also keep a hard copy of the manual which has all the numbers to check the total number of articles you have packed including the boxes and everything else.

5) Another point of consideration is to make sure that you plan your packing and moving beforehand and do not leave anything for last minute. Make sure you have made all prior arrangements at the destination point so that no hassles burden your move. Once you make sure that everything is checked and articles are packed, move the consignment safely to the destination and enjoy the better living.

Packers and movers in India are of great help though, but do not be of the view that self help is any less if you cannot invest on hiring one for you.
