Every driver’s life is precious to us! Last month, there was an incident that took place in Hosur, Karnataka, which has really jolted us. After driving for hours and hours on a journey from Gurgaon to Coimbatore, a driver of APML wanted to take a break. It was much needed! It was getting dark and the dhaba that he wanted to sit, relax and sip a cup of tea was at the other side of the road. To reach the dhaba, he was either required to drive the truck a mile more and then take a U-turn for returning to the dhaba, or, the easy way, he could park the truck on the side of the road where he brought the truck to halt and then cross the lanes by walking. He opted for the easy one! It was a four-lane road. The moment the driver was crossing the road, a vehicle that was passing by, on failing to take notice of the driver crossing the road in utter darkness, hit the driver. Alas, we lost a valuable life on the road! Whose fault was it? No one’s, actually!

We are so affected by this mishap that we want to avoid such unlucky accidents happening in future. Our company, APML, like always, when on spotting this issue, brought it to the notice of Think Tank of our company. This wing of APML is dedicated to solving, resolving and giving expert opinions, after thorough research and development, on a topic of concern. It has earlier come up with a lot of revolutionary ideas so that the issue could be sorted before it becomes a serious concern. At last, the solution was found to the above-stated problem also, and therefore, we have decided to make it mandatory for our drivers to clothe themselves in a fluorescent-orange jacket that has prominent reflective stripes on its fabric. These radium stripes reflect lights and will make our drivers visible in night also. Henceforth, these radium jackets will save the lives of our drivers out on roads even after sunset. We… do care!
