When you are moving to your new home then you have to make sure that all your belongings are packed carefully. Packing is indeed a stressful task but you can make it easier with the help of the most amazing tips that are discussed in this article. Even if you hire packers and movers Mumbai, you should follow some of the important tips that will help you pack all your items with precision, especially those in kitchen. This is one such place in the entire home that is quite tricky to pack. Here are some of the excellent tips that will help you pack your entire kitchen.

Tips to Pack and Move Your Kitchen

1. Keep the things organized: You should start with organizing the things of your kitchen. Throw away all the items that you do not want to keep with you for moving. Get rid of all the expired boxes that is present in your kitchen. If you have any type of non-perishable items in your kitchen then you should pack them separately in the box as those can be moved along with the movers. Those kitchen supplies that are in good condition can be either sold or donated to your friends or family.

2.Gather the packing materials: Gather all types of packing supplies that are needed for safely packing all your kitchen essentials. The glassware, crockery, china, plates, ceramics, and others have to be packed in packing paper, bubble wrap or packing paper. Secure the packing material with a packing tape and label the final one with “Fragile”, so that your movers can take an extra care of them. After wrapping, pack the items inside the box by layering the bottom with crumpled packing paper or similar other packing material. You can also make use of your old clothes to protect your fragile items.

3. Don’t pack the entire kitchen: Packing the entire kitchen beforehand is not a practical and recommendable thing. There are some items that you have to keep unpacked till the day of the move. This is because you might need something or the other till the last day of the move. You can’t practically pack all the things. You need to keep the items of daily usage like utensils including plates, glasses, kettle, toaster, and similar others all unpacked. These can be packed in a box on the last day so that you can open it right after you reach the new home as the same will be used at the new place by you or your family members.

4. Start packing your kitchen: Now it’s time to pack your kitchen and you should start with the counter top items. The items to be packed first are the ones that you do not use frequently such as baking supplies and utensils, glassware, glasses, cups & mugs, stemware, and similar other items that you think you won’t need on an immediate basis. While packing, make sure to keep the heavier items at the bottom of the box and lighter items above them. Also, before putting the items inside, make sure that you line a layer of crumpled paper at the bottom. Also, do not overpack your box as there might be chances of getting your box damaged and your goods will fall from it eventually. Start with packing your cupboard items. Make groups and wrap them together to put inside the box.

5. General guidelines: There are some general guidelines for packing your belongings. Line the inside of the box with packing paper for added cushion. Pack the plates by stacking on each other in a packing paper and secure it. Place the bundles of your stacked plates horizontally to reduce the risk of damage. This process can be repeated with bowls. Once the base is filled with the heavy items, add a layer of packing paper, and then put the lighter items above them. You can group 4 to 6 items together and wrap them before putting them inside the box. Bundle together all the cutlery items and keep them inside the box after securing them with packing paper and tape. When you are packing sharp knives then it would be better if you pack them in a large container or wrap a kitchen towel around them securing further with rubber bands. Use a separate box for large utensils, pots, pans, and containers.

6. Items to be careful with: Make use of a small box for keeping the pantry items and canned goods. If you have anything liquid worth transporting then wrap them in plastic wraps to prevent leakage. Small and medium-sized appliances should be packed in separate boxes for safety purpose. Make sure to empty your fridge, defrost it, and then clean it properly before the move. The vases should be individually wrapped and packed in a small box. If your wine bottles are not opened then only pack them in special wine moving box. Now, as per your products, you need to decide whether you need a custom crating service or not or you want a climate-controlled environment for your products or not. However, perishable items are not allowed in the moving truck. So, either have them or donate them to needy.
